Received ebay email saying item purchased was subject to safety recall and to stop using.
Made contact with seller who advised it had been sorted with ebay and not a concern.
Requested confirmation of ebay communication from seller but they haven't responded.

Mentor1 year agoeBay's own money back guarantee only lasts for 30 days. If you received it longer ago than this, any action required by the recall notice is entirely the responsibility of the seller.
eBay won't get involved. In fact, we have heard from sellers recently who complain about no help from eBay even after sending recall notices about items that are allegedly not even covered by the recall.
You need to check it out yourself, and if possible get help from the manufacturer. Or from the CAB. Or depending upon how and when you paid, possibly from your payment provider. You might even have to scrap it.
When things go wrong it brings home to users that buying from unknown sellers on eBay isn't like buying from the shops. To be fair, eBay did point out in the user agreement that they don't guarantee that items sold here will be truthfully described, safe or legal. So you knew that that it can be a risky place to buy things.

Mentor1 year agoEbay only acts on general advices about items recalled, they do not make recalls and it would not be very likely that a seller could sort out with ebay.
Suggest either contacting the manufacturer or searching on Google.
