Why is there no phone number for eBay? I have a major problem!
Summary: animedude7 shared a problem with a seller who ignored their cancellation request after an incorrect address was selected, leading to being charged. They accused the seller of ghosting and blocking them. papso22 argued that sellers aren't required to accept cancellations if orders are posted to the selected address. animedude7 maintained that the seller is a scammer and questioned the lack of eBay customer support. fargvs suggested persisting through the eBay contact system for an agent callback.
I placed an order with a seller and picked the wrong address and naturally I panicked so I requested a cancellation, however the seller ignored my cancellation request so I messaged him explaining the situation and he responded with “order is cancelled” but everytime I checked my orders it shows that the cancellation request is still pending and I still got charged. I messaged the seller again and now he is completely ghosting me.
What else can I do? I tried looking everywhere for a contact number and the help section is not useful because there’s no options about cancellation requests or sellers being scammers.

Mentor1 week agoThe seller is not a acammer. They don't have to accept cancellation requests and they do have to post to the address used by the buyer at checkout. That's what ebay would also tell you and what is set out in Ebay's guidance.
He may have cancelled, if not, you made a mistake and there may be consequences.

Also, you never answered the question about why there is no customer support number for eBay.

Mentor1 week agoCustomer Service contact can be difficult but persist in requesting an Agent Callback using the large blue Contact Us button at bottom of this page link.
