Why is Simple Delivery hated? Just asking so not missing anything obvious

I sell a few items a month, and by no means a trading business.
I sometimes choose I pay postage depending on value i am trying to sell. Closer or exceeding the typical value.

IF selling under, i would let buyer pay postage.

Give me label and drop it off in the post office or other off licence counters.

What am i missing here? All works?

I've no idea why some sellers don't like Simple Delivery. Previously, if an item arrived damaged or went astray then the seller ended up refunding the buyer and chasing Royal Mail or their courier for compensation. Now all sellers have to do is use the label and then if this happens eBay make the refund, really quickly too.

It is hated because many sellers do not understand it, it is inflexible and very easy for sellers to lose money on postage if they try to do their own thing.
