Why is eBay dragging its feet ?
Summary: growlybearbum is experiencing issues with two eBay purchases. For the first item, the seller agreed to a refund, but lack of communication from eBay and not having a return address has stalled the process. The second item, an exhaust section, does not fit as advertised, and a different seller refuses to issue a refund, with eBay having closed the refund case. growlybearbum seeks advice on how to resolve these disputes.
I have an issue with 2 items I’ve purchased.
The first one I’ve contacted the seller and he’s agreed to give me a refund when he receives the item back.
Sounds fair enough but eBay says he hasn’t responded to them and he says he’s had no contact from them.
As I’ve not been given a return address I’m in limbo.
The second item from a different seller sold me an exhaust section which according to the advert from the company he bought it from should fit my car.
Needless to say it doesn’t and just because he copied the original ad he’s refusing to refund me and good old eBay have closed the refund down !
In my opinion, my contract is with him and eBay and his original advert doesn’t matter a jot.
I appreciate he sold it in good faith but they still have mis sold the item and I want a refund.
Any ideas folks ?

Mentor3 weeks agoAlways open ebay case, never try to deal with seller yourself.
1st item, if you haven't opened case, do it now, escalate on day 4 if not resolved.
2nd case, if you opened does not fit case, private sellers can refuse, it should have been not as described, but you can't open another case now.
