Why is ebay customer service so hard to get hold of, the AI is as helpful as a chocolate teapot, ARRRRGH
Summary: mw0mpd expressed frustration with eBay's customer service after purchasing a faulty item from a company initially thought to be local but actually based in China. They struggled to contact eBay support and were directed to Citizens Advice. Despite the purchase falling outside the 30-day return policy, they were upset about the lack of options and the ineffective AI support system, feeling that UK consumer protections were not being upheld. tobiasd4 suggested contacting the payment provider for resolution.
Why is ebay making life so difficult,
bought an item from a company in Northampton, 10 days after the 30 return policy, it went wrong.
now i find out that the company i bought it from is ion china.
cant get hold of ebay customer services, i have spoken to one person once, and they pointed me towards citizens advise, now i need more information from ebay. and there is no way to ask they.
the Stupid AI thing hinders more than it helps. it must of been trained by the same people that train the doctors receptionists.
i have a £250 paperweight, which i cant even use as a paperweight because its leaking oil.
so i might have a very expensive door stop.
i cant return the item, because ebay wont forward to address of the company,
can raise a case, because there isnt an option for it.
so much for 1 years warrenty on anything purchased in the UK, ebay is exempt from UK LAW by the looks.
WHY WHY WHY, ebay is going to the dogs, and UK citizens are now exempt from the law,
and there is nothing we can do,
customer service is now worse than EVRI

Mentor1 month agoBuyers are expected to know that the 30 day money back guarantee means just that and ebay will do nothing once over 30 days.
