Why do ebay favor bad ebayer over a genuine one
I bought an item and the seller messed me about no end i reported them ebay said they would take action as restriction or suspension and then I find out the seller does the same thing to another buyer with the same item I bought so ebay done nothing. And they even removed my feedback. So as they favour a bad seller I will not be using ebay again as they do absolutely nothing what is the point of customer service if it doesn't work 🤔

Mentor2 weeks agoIn what way did seller mess you around. Sellers are hardly able to mess a buyer about, all they have to do is complete a sale. Failure to do that then it is up to you the buyer to open an appropriate case.
Reporting seller to ebay is a waste of time, when there are tools available to deal with problems. Ebay will never tell you what if any action they will take, if an agent told you anything it would most likely be what may be done, but does not mean it will be done.
As far as feedback is concerned despite ebay encouraging writing a book, it is best kept brief then less likely to say something which will allow seller to ask for removal.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedThe seller failed to post on time then i got in touch with him and then promised to send the next day and still nothing had to put in for a refund then the seller cancelled the refund that I eventually got back so spent an hour with the customer service and they said if I reported him they can do something which turned out they did nothing and the person who bought the same item got the same response as me so what's to point of having customer service if they lie. and for the feedback the worst I done is called him a clown which was being polite in my opinion but he can call me a bitter fool and thats ok. Ebay customers service is as good as a chocolate teapot.

Mentor2 weeks agoThis is an ebay member forum, not ebay CS.
Ebay staff rarely look at this forum.
As said, reporting a seller doesn't do much, you need to open relevant case.

OP2 weeks agoYou sure about that because they seem to remove the stuff they don't like as I found out. And open a case, they will just lie like they have been doing so what's the point as it will get me know where. Just wanted people to know that there rules and regulations mean absolutely nothing as I found out

Mentor2 weeks agoThere are rules about what you can post on the discussion boards. If they are broken then posts can be removed or edited.

OP2 weeks agoShame they don't follow their own rules

Mentor2 weeks agoWhen eBay CS told you to report him, in this instance that would mean open an eBay item not received claim, which you can do once the latest estimated date showing on your order has passed.
If you called the seller a clown in your feedback then that would get it removed, it's a personal slight and nothing to do with how the transaction went.

OP2 weeks agoPut it this way if ebay done their job the next person who bought the same item I bought got exactly what I got which was a headache and the bad seller said he doesn't care about the bad feedback as ebay is going down the pan and guess what I believe him

Mentor2 weeks agoWith any online system, it only all works if done correctly. That includes the feedback system and the returns system. A not as described return results in a flag going up on the sellers account, enough of those and they'll be restricted, same with bad feedback.
If a buyer doesn't bother with the return or leaves feedback that can easily be removed it kind of defeats the whole point of leaving a feedback calling out a bad transaction.

OP2 weeks agoPut it this way ebay has lost a good buyer/seller with 100 feedback because I've lost all faith in their system. as it shouldn't be that hard calling out a bad seller, they told me I was basically fantastic seller and we need more people like calling out the rubbish and then nothing happened so I give up and removed all my listings cleared my account out as they won't be making another penny off me. Going down the pan at a fast rate 100% so stop keep trying to defend a broken system

Mentor2 weeks agoI'm not defending a broken system, the system really isn't broken if you use it correctly, and you should appreciate that all all centres tell you that you're a valued customer/fantastic person etc., they read from the same script.
As explained, there's a process to follow. It's a shame that you didn't find this section earlier, we could've told you how to proceed.
You need to do what you feel is best for you, but I'd leave your account open in case you do want to buy anything, or decide to sell again in the future (if you close the account you'll need to start all over again and will lose your high feedback score, which is good provenance for potential buyers).
