MentorAug 17, 2026 at 12:48 PMJust having looked at the listing the item and seller are located in Guernsey. I suspect this is the issue.

MentorAug 17, 2026 at 7:56 AMYou can tell if you have been charged VAT on a purchase if it is 20%, if not then the VAT is on some chargeable service, such as postage.
I think that buying postage through ebay is chargeable, if buying from Post Office or Royal Mail it is VAT free.

MentorAug 17, 2026 at 7:49 AMYou may have not been charged vat, is it showing near the cost of the postage label? In which case its a VAT chargeable service, however the way eBay lay it out its not clever.
Vat is also a chargeable thing for such as BPF which ebay have to pay (the VAT) to HMRC.

OPAug 17, 2026 at 8:21 AMIt's 20% on the whole value not the postage.
