When a buyer changes their mind
Hi. I'm fairly new to selling. Just after some advice, please. Recently, a buyer cancelled after I'd accepted their offer. They'd changed their mind. I was then asked to refund them. To refund them, I used an amount that seemed to be available in a pending account. However, that didn't cover the full amount. I had to pay an extra £130 to make up the full refund amount. Do I get that money back? Cheers

You didn't even need to ask us. For the future, all you had to do was click on "Help and contact" at to top of almost every page (but ironically not this one!).
Entering "cancellation" in the search field would have taken you to eBay's guidance to both buyers and sellers on how to cancel a sale.
Good luck. I do hope you get your £130 back, but according to the procedure the buyer followed it's possible that eBay may still take this from your linked bank account to refund them in full. (eBay takes no notice of payments made from another source). You would then have to trust your buyer to return the amount duplicated.

If you used another source and refunded your buyer, even in part from another source, and not through eBay's procedure, then I'm afraid there's no return of that money.
If a Buyer requests to cancel, after you have accepted, if there is no money in your Available section for the refund, eBay use your back up course, which is usually your bank account. Then, when the refund is this way completed, money from the payout which is held as per norm when a case is opened, it's then released to you.

Mentor6 months agoPresumably some or all of the buyer's payment is still on hold so ebay take the refund from your available funds or funding source. You keep the payment when it is released.
