What if simple delivery charges the wrong amount for postage.

Just started selling again after a long break and had problems with my first sale last week and this simple delivery service. Personally, I was happy to take the item to the post office like I usually do. However, the system seemed to push me into using it and I got charged £4.25 for the postage label, when it should have been a lot more - especially at 16kg and a medium sized parcel. I contacted customer services to cancel the label and posted the item my usual way. The customer received the item the next day and was happy, but EBAY did not release my money. I gather it takes some time to cancel a label and the system was thinking it had not been received.

2: what do I do in future, if the postage label is obviously incorrect.

Mentor2 days agoAll private sellers have to use Simple Delivery.
You should check parcel size and weight before listing and then you will be able to select the correct postage. However, if you use the recommended parcel size and it still exceeds the maximum size and weight of the label, you won’t be charged any additional costs. You can go ahead and use the Simple Delivery postage label.
If yoiu don't use the SD label payment may be held for 14 days but new sellers often have payments held for 30 days anyway. If you have postage cost on your listing that means buyer pays for it and they are automatically refunded for an unused label, within 30 days.
