Voucher Code not applied
Summary: 20cwt experienced an issue where a voucher code was not applied during an eBay purchase, leading to a full charge instead of the discounted price. 20cwt followed all the instructions but was taken directly to the payment page, and the vendor directed them to request a refund from eBay. *vyolla* suggested that immediate payment might bypass the voucher entry if it involved a Best Offer, but 20cwt clarified it was a straightforward voucher purchase. *vyolla* further explained the differences in payment processes but it didn't address the original voucher code issue.
I purchased an item with voucher code MUSTHAVE25 within the required time.
I was not taken to a "redeem a voucher " page but directly to the "Review and Payment" page which took the money without me entering anything. I was charged the full amount. The vendor does not accept it is their responsibility and says I should request the refund from ebay.
All the prerequisites were followed correctly. I can find no way in their help pages to guide me to get the discount.
Any help would be appreciated. Regards Nick

Mentor1 month agoVouchers are at ebay’s expense and nothing to do with seller. There is usually something in the instructions that it may be cancelled at any time.

OP1 month agoThankyou.
That's what eBay system told me. As I stated, I followed all their instructions but was taken directly to the payment and review section which took my money immediately.
It wasn't a best offer but a voucher code purchase.

Mentor1 month agoA Best Offer is an offer feature on a listing and if you click on that and make an offer then your payment may be taken immediately, without you being able to pay via eBay checkout and add your voucher code.
Same if a seller sends you an offer and you accept.
If it was a Buy it Now then you'd go via checkout.

Mentor1 month ago · EditedAt eBay checkout there's a field to enter a voucher code, you then have to click to apply it.
If it was a Best Offer and your seller accepted the offer then your payment may have been taken immediately, bypassing eBay checkout and not allowing you to enter a code.
There isn't a way to use the code retrospectively once the item has been purchased though. This isn't the sellers fault though, nothing to do with them.
