Violaton of listing policy
Hi
I've had an item hidden because it violates a listing policy. Problem is, I don't know which bit violates the policy. I tried talking to an agent in chat and they just said the listed is prohibited, refused to tell me why and ended the chat session!
I'm confused as there are pages of the same type of product (a wound wash for dogs) listed on ebay, so the product itself surely can't be the issue?
It says this policy has been violated? https://www.ebay.com/help/account/regulatory/understanding-extended-producer-responsibility-ebay?id=5482
Any ideas?
Thanks

Mentor6 months agoIt's hard to see how EPR would apply to a wound wash for dogs, and in any case you don't deliver outside the UK.
The most likely explanation is that eBay's so called AI has found some imagined problem with the listng and picked entirely the wrong reason to describe it. I suspect this is why eBay staff are often unable to explain why listings have been hidden or removed - they probably don't understand why either!
It's impossible to know exactly what you're looking for, basically something capable of being misunderstood by a brain-dead computer. For example, one of your other listings states that the product does not contain "nasty chemicals" and it wouldn't have surprised me if it had also been removed because eBay's AI pannicked at the very mention of the term! (It didn't, but is an example of something that might have done.)
Or compare your own listing with the many others that have been allowed, and possibly try reproducing their description. I wouldn't normally suggest this, but eBay does now allow sellers to copy and use other sellers' descriptions.

That link no doubt provided by ebay seems to relate to overseas sales. You do not quote overseas postage, but in fact that would not stop buyers in other Countries buying but not being able to pay.
You could block all countries, but whether that would make any difference I do not know. Whether it is something to do with that particular product as I see you have other items listed
Why you have been picked on again I do not know, but once restricted it can harm your selling if you relist.
What you could try if you can find the exact same product is to try “list similar” to see if there is any difference in the listing which could explain the problem. Ebay could be more helpful instead of just picking on a seller at random.
