Verification of account

I've had an Ebay account for over a year and have made several purchases through them. I recently sold my first item with them. I hadn't got my bank account details registered so they put a hold on payments. I then registered my bank only to be told i also need to give them either my passport or driving licence! As a UK resident my bank checks my identity so there is no need for Ebay to have this information. I've had so many email and telephone conversations with Ebay to no avail. No one I have spoken to has given this extra info when opening their accounts. have any of you had this issue? Or had to give this information to sell on Ebay? Thanks

Mentor3 months agoEbay do ask for proof of ID, especially when you start to sell.
Show passport or Driving licence is safe.
Without it, you are unlikely to be able to sell on ebay.
