Mentor3 months agoThat shouldn't have happened, and looking at the sellers feedback another buyer says the same thing; VAT was charged even though both buyer and seller are located in the UK.
Maybe contact eBay and ask them why VAT was charged?
I’ve found that the best route to contact eBay Customer Services is via the link below where you can call them or request a call back if you’re using the app (if you’re using desktop you’ll need to go round the houses with AI and start a chat then keep typing ‘agent’ until you get the option to live chat with a CS rep or to have a call back):

OP3 months agoThanks for the help. I have been in touch with ebay and they can all see the issue ( mixing up Winchester in the US with Winchester in Hampshire ) but they are awaiting advice from their supervisor on how to deal with it. Maybe just refund me the VAT 😕

Mentor3 months agoEven if an item is within the UK , if either the Buyer and/or Seller is using or has had an account that has/was initially registered outside the UK site , then an additional 20% Import VAT and any additional delivery fee is charged ---

OP3 months agoJust checked the original listing and it says it's coming from Winchester in the United States however it was delivered today in 3 days from Winchester in the UK! Odd

Mentor3 months agoEven if item was sent from UK, if seller is based elsewhere, you still pay VAT.
What was item number?
