Used fragrance sales.
I have been selling used fragrances for some time, but recently ebay have taken them down, and now stopped me from selling them completely. Fair enough, but why is it that there are thousands of such listings still on ebay, many obviously well used with no packaging or even spayer caps?? Some are 7 day auctions that go the whole distance without being removed. Not fair to me.

·5 months agoYou are not allowed to sell partly used perfumes at all. Used perfumes and cosmetics have always been prohibited by Ebay.
If you see members listing used fragrances, you can report them. There is a link on every listing by using the question mark in a faint circle on the right hand side.
You should have a read of the policy.

When you list fragrances, you can only choose new or 'new/other' which Ebay define as:
New other (see details)

eBay inow makes at least limited use of AI to detect ads that contravene their listing policies. I would have thought that used perfumes would be fairly easy example to spot.
In the meantime, if you feel it's so unfair that sellers are still getting away with it you could report them yourself.

Mentor5 months agoThere could be many reasons, but the rules are you cannot sell used perfumes, without the Brands permission, ( doubt it would be given even if asked), and with 7 billion listings, so impossible to check each one, your items slipped the net up to this time, now they' ve been spotted, reported and removed.
As said, if your listing is removed or hidden by eBay, you may see similar listings still active on the site. This could be for a few reasons:
There may be differences between the listings that aren't obvious.
The other seller may be a rights owner or authorised retailer of the item.
A participant in the VeRO Program may have asked us to remove your listing but hasn't requested the other listing be taken down. These types of removals are only done at the request of the VeRO participant, and aren't eBay's decision. Read more about the VeRO Program, link at the bottom of most pages.
Your listing was reported to eBay, but the other listings haven't been...... yet!
