Used different courier to Simple Delivery, now ebay is witholding my proceeds from sale.
Summary: bigmerchmusic sold a bass guitar online and initially intended to use a Royal Mail label for shipping, but was advised at the post office that it couldn't be shipped that way due to size. Instead, they used Parcelforce Express, resulting in a payment status of 'Pending' on eBay. *vyolla* explained that since the Simple Delivery label wasn't used, the tracking can't be updated, potentially holding payments for up to 14 days. They also provided details on how to request a refund for the unused label. *vyolla* suggested reviewing listings to ensure postage methods and prices are accurate.
Dear Community,
I sold a bass guitar online.
I printed off the mailing label for Standard Tracked Delivery via Royal Mail and attached it to the package. When I went to my local post office, the agent told me that he couldn’t accept a package that size and that I couldn’t send it by Royal Mail. When I told him I wanted the package dispatched immediately and asked him what my options were, he said I could pay for a Parcelforce Express delivery. So this is what I did for £15.70.
The Parcelforce tracking reference shows a copy of the POD and I have 2 emails in my messages inbox from the buyer Buyer confirming delivery and stating how pleased he was with the bass guitar.
At present, the Funds status = Pending, Awaiting delivery. Can I argue with ebay this be changed to 'delivered', so that my proceeds from the sale can be released?

Mentor3 weeks agoJust a heads up - can you really send a bass guitar out for £6.65?
I'd go through your listings and revise them if the postage methods and prices aren't right.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you don't use the Simple Delivery label provided its not possible to add the new tracking number to the order, so your payment may be held for 14 days.
As regards the original unused label either you or your buyer will be refunded, depending on who paid for postage.
If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days
If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form (link below) for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller
To process your refund, we'll verify the following:
The label was paid for by you (you offered free shipping to the buyer).
The refund request is created within 14 days from the item's sale.
The label wasn't used within 14 days of the item's sale.
The package was delivered using a different tracking number.
If your request meets all these conditions, you'll receive a refund for the shipping cost.
