Upgrade from Medium to Large Parcel on Live Listing
Summary: castle5271 is seeking advice on handling a live auction listing where the parcel weight now requires an upgrade from medium to large size. **peaseblossom** suggests ending the listing early and relisting with the correct postage, while also contacting the current bidder. castle5271 appreciates the advice but decides to leave the listing as is, as the box size still fits within the medium parcel limits, though the weight exceeds 1 kg.
Hi,
Could anyone help with the following please. I've got a live listing with a bid on it but now realise that the box for the item I've just obtained is going to take the weight to just under 1.5kg so the parcel has to be large now, not medium shown in the listing. I'm paying the postage so it's FREE delivery. Because the listing is live with a bid on it, I can't change the parcel size so when the listing has ended how can I pay the extra amount needed to cover the increase in parcel size.
Many thanks
Steve

Mentor1 month ago · EditedYou can change the weight on a label when you go to print it but I don't think that includes changing into another size bracket. To be sure I would end your listing early and relist with correct postage.
You can contact the bidder to tell them what you're doing and invite them to bid again on the new listing. They will receive a link to the new listing from ebay anyway.
To contact them click on where it says number of bids on the actual listing. On that next page you'll see their ID. Click on that and use the contact link.
If you prefer you could wait until it's finished and see if you can change the label. If not you'd have to cancel the transaction with the buyer's agreement and relist.

OP1 month agoHi,
Many thanks for your reply, that's very helpful. The box size is still well within the medium parcel limits but with the box weight is now over 1kg taking it to the large parcel weight category. Therefore, if I can change the weight after the sale ends as you suggested, I'm probably best to leave the listing as it is.
