Unbranded electrical goods,branded electricl goods
Hi,I see with many ebay sellers,which seem to be businesses,electrical goods marked 'unbranded' are offered fo r sale;I bought a usb rechargeable torch for example. Also,electrical goods that are branded offered, like an extension lead i purchased branded 'Aunno'- a known brand.My questions are,are 'unbranded' electrical goods offered by buisnesses on ebay safe?I read that they are often not.And how can I tell branded electrical goods are genuine and safe?I asked sellers these questions, both questions the answer was 'yes the brand is genuine',and 'yes,the unbranded electrical torch is safe to use'-? Would this be correct? Thank you.

Mentor5 months agoYou need to have your wits about you when buying on eBay. Claims made by sellers may not be true.
eBay specifically warns buyers that they don't guarantee the quality of items sold here, that they will be truthfully described, safe, legal or even exist. Would you buy from a shop that stated this?
Okay, eBay does provide a strong money back guarantee if an item is not as described. Just ask yourself whether the risk is worthwhile? Getting your money back won't be much consolation if some fake or unknown brand product has wrecked the device you connected it to, set your home on fire or worse. eBay isn't like the shops, eBay is a jungle.

Mentor5 months agoA seller can say all sorts, nothing to enforce anyone to answer truthfully I'm afraid.
That is why eBay have a 30 day MBG Money Back Guarantee policy whereby on receiving a faulty item you can return it at the seller's expense for a full refund within that timeframe. After that your payment provider usually offers a 120 day buyer protection.
There's always too, the seller's feedback to check to see if any returns have been made for the item you wish to purchase.
Personally, for an electrical item I would buy from a shop / store in town, who can offer if needed, some guarantee which I know can be enforced.
