I am trying to update my phone number but do not get a verification text.

Thank you for your post.

Double check the phone number entered is correct and try from the account settings. If still encountering the issue after this give it 24 hours, clear recent cache and cookies and try again.

Things to check would be

ensuring a good signal/reception on the phone
that there is no sms blocking/spam filters
try restarting your phone

Are you updating here? https://accountsettings.ebay.co.uk/profile It does say if verification is required, so I am guessing thats not the case all the time.
