Unable to get a refund due to time lapsed waiting
Summary: pj_burrows shared their experience of ordering a repair kit that never arrived, despite being marked as shipped. They initially chose to wait for the item to come back in stock instead of a refund, but after months without any update, they requested a refund but received no response. Now, they're facing difficulties as the order no longer qualifies as a recent enough purchase on eBay for a refund request. tobiasd4 advised not to wait past eBay's 30-day dispute window and suggested contacting their payment provider. *vyolla* suggested checking if they are within a 120-day window for a chargeback if the payment was made via debit/credit card or Apple Pay.
I ordered a Vinyl Floor & Tile Repair Kit Free Fast Delivery in February 2026. It was marked as shipped, but it did not arrive. When I queried this, the seller accepted this fact ,stating that it was lost in transit and offered me a choice:
either wait until the item came back into stock....or get a refund. I wanted the item, so I chose to wait. Nothing happened for months. So I contacted the seller again to say I wanted a refund after all. I got no response to that message, or to a follow up chaser. When I try to report the item to EBay as not having arrived it no longer appears as a "recent" enough order to register my complaint/requested refund. I am stuck with useless AI options, so what do I do?

Mentor3 months agoDepending when in February you paid, you may still be able to get a refund if you funded the payment with a debit/credit card or Apple Pay. You have 120 days to issue a not received chargeback.

Mentor3 months agoYou only have 30 days to open ebay case, so too late now.
I don't know ebay give option of replacement item, better to get refund and order again.
Never let the 30 days run out without getting a satisfactory resolution.
Try your payment provider to get refund.
