Unable to bid on a circular saw
I have been an active buyer & seller on ebay for 26 years, but it seems I am unable to place a bid for a circular saw. I have a valid credit card and a active bank account on file.
Any help would be good.
Thanks

Mentor2 weeks agoCurrently only a ( monthly payment ) Credit Card in your Name to confirm your age is acceptable to eBay --- nothing else will do !! --- an everyday use Debit Card will not be accepted.

Mentor2 weeks agoeBay only accept a credit card, because anyone of any age can own a debit card, and you need to be 18 years or older to have a credit card.
Those Credit card Companies have already done their stringent checks on the holders of those cards, so to save time and money, eBay use those checks for their own benefit.
The only way round this for you, is to ask a friend or family member who has a credit card on their eBay account, to buy this item for you.

OP2 weeks agoHi thanks I have an active credit card on the system & at 67 years of age meet the over 18 requirement, so not sure?

Mentor2 weeks agoThat is odd then.
One thing to check, has the card 6 months plus validity?
At eBay checkout, make sure on the left hand side, that credit card is the one selected for payment.

OP2 weeks agoThanks for the info. The card has my name on it & is used for buying selling & fees? Also has over a year on the valid date

Mentor2 weeks agoThis is odd, so if the card is Amex its not valid, also (we don't know so excuse sounding silly) but the card is a 'proper'[credit card eg not one that you can pre load so to speak?

OP2 weeks agoA proper normal everyday Mastercard credit card, not preloaded & not Amex. Thanks
