Trying to combine postage for three items after buyer has paid
Summary: sandyt2123 sought advice on combining postage for three sold items after the buyer had already paid for separate postage costs. tressygirl and papso22 suggested refund processes for unused postage labels. sandyt2123 later confirmed resolving the issue by canceling the original orders and relisting the items together, which was accepted by the buyer, making it advantageous by reducing the promotional fee as well.
Hi, I have just sold three separate items to the same buyer. The postage for each item is £3.38 each - making £10.14. I would like to combine all three items in one box so that the postage is just £3.38. The buyer is paying for postage, and has asked if I can combine the items. But as the buyer has already paid for all three including postage (which I don't receive), how can he get refund of that postage?
Hope there is an easy answer because I can't think of one.
Thanks

Mentor1 week agoIf you listed with simple delivery, then any unused labels are automatically refunded to the buyer. Your problem is that you will only have delivery proof for one of the items and will have to trust the buyer and wait for payment.

OP1 week agoHi, thanks for replying. I am all sorted now as my buyer was very understanding and cooperative. I basically got agreement to cancel all three orders and then relist them together so that my buyer could buy and then I had just the one prepaid label. Actually this was a win-win, as it meant that I removed the joint promotional fee when I relished all three items for my agreed buyer! Thanks again

Mentor1 week agoFirstly, apologies for the long delay in replying there was a technical issue with this particular board which prevented us from answering, until now.
If you haven't solved the issue yet then, A refund is sent to whoever paid for the unused SD label:
If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days
If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
