Tracking Shows Item Returned to Seller – No Refund Received & No Clear Responsibility
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone from the community can advise me on what to do next.
I returned an item to the seller, and the tracking clearly shows that it has been successfully delivered to the seller’s return address. However, I still have not received my refund.
When I contacted the seller to confirm whether the item had arrived, they told me that the return is being managed by eBay and that all international returns are handled directly by eBay.
However, when I called eBay customer service, the agent told me that since the 30-day Money Back Guarantee period has passed, it is no longer their responsibility and that I need to contact the seller directly.
I informed the seller of what customer service said and asked them to contact eBay on their end to help resolve the issue, but I have not received any reply since then.
At this point, I feel stuck between the seller and eBay, with both sides saying it’s the other’s responsibility. The tracking shows the item has been returned, yet I still have no refund.
What should I do next to recover my refund for an item that has already been returned?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

·6 months agoFrom what you have said in your post, I assume you bought from an overseas seller and had to return to a country outside of the UK.
If you can add more detail and answer all the questions I have asked, you may get more useful advice.
Why did you return the item?
Where did you send the item to? Did you send it directly to the seller?
Did you pay postage or did the seller provide a label?
Did you open a return through Ebay before you posted the item?

OP6 months agoWhere did you send the item to? Did you send it directly to the seller? The item was never delivered to me; it remained with Royal Mail and was eventually returned to the sender.
Did you pay postage or did the seller provide a label? The seller had provided the return label..
Did you open a return through Ebay before you posted the item? I then attempted to open a return request, and the seller agreed to accept the item back

·6 months agoThere is nothing you can do through Ebay.
Refusing to accept an item, or to pay any due fees, invalidates any protection you would get from the Money Back Guarantee.
As suggested, you can try your payment provider but as it was a remorse cancellation, and you refused to accept the item, your payment provider may not be able to help.
See what they say,

Mentor6 months agoeBay won't help after 30 days and the seller is unlikely to. You can contact your payment provider and ask about a refund or chargeback.
