The Utter Misery of Evri
Summary: catchthelight expresses frustration over lost purchases when using a delivery service with eBay, questioning why the platform and sellers continue to use this service. They highlight issues with delays in refunds and the legality of mandatory buyer protection insurance, concluding that the purchasing process on eBay has become too stressful and unreliable.
Just had yet another purchase lost by Evri, why are Ebay still partnering with them and why are sellers using them? It's a waste of everyone's time and money, although you eventually get a refund, it's often after being made to wait weeks 'just in case it turns up' even though all probability says it's been chucked in a hedge somewhere or stolen. Plus as a buyer we're forced to pay buyer protection insurance (I'm not sure that's even legal in the UK). Purchasing anything off ebay is no longer worth the stress, hassle or the misery of discovering the item you needed urgently has been dispatched through Evri.
