The seller did not pay the amount due for the item.
Hello. I sold a car and selected the "payment on pickup" option. The buyer inspected the vehicle and wanted to finalize the transaction, but I hadn't received confirmation that the funds had reached my account. Consequently, I did not sell the car. Now eBay is charging me a fee for the sale. I have reported the matter to eBay. Please advise me on what to do in this situation. Thank you for your help.

Consider Classified Ads at £19.99 for 30 days. --- Set an acceptable Selling price and avoid accepting Offers until after a visit and viewing of the Vehicle otherwise the listing will pause and the deal may never be completed --- the exchange of contact details is allowed.
Just continue to Negotiate an acceptable selling price and only remove the Ad. when you have a definite buyer with Cash in hand or a Bank Transfer is safely deposited/confirmed before handing over Vehicle keys/documents on buyer viewing /collection. No additional FVF selling fee is charged. --- Do not accept PayPal payment. --- stay safe!

Mentor3 weeks agoThere is a fee to list a vehicle on ebay. If the buyer didn't pay issue a non-payment cancellation via the dropdown menu arrow forthe item on your orders list. For future reference it's better for you to ask for cash when selling a car.

OP3 weeks agoThat’s what I did. It was listed as payment on pickup. The buyer arrived, saw the car, and wanted to take it. I refused because there was no payment in my eBay account.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf they pay cash they hand it to you there and then. It doesn't go via your ebay account. Anyway complete the unpaid cancellation and you will get the final value fee back.

The sale of motor vehicles is different. The buyer pays the seller, not eBay. As nothing goes through your eBay account there is no confirmation of any payment made.
