The seller cancelled my cancellation request three days later, when they posted the item.
i accidentally bought this, to be fair, really really expensive pencilcase (expensive for what you were actually getting) and i was like "oh its fine i can just cancel it."
IMMEDIATELY after buying i submitted a cancel request. what do you mean REQUEST? i want to cancel, not ASK to cancel. right, okay fine, they have to accept it right? i mean, why on EARTH wouldnt they?
3 days, nothing. then, finally, i get a email from ebay, 2 emails, matter of fact.
1) your item has been posted.
2)cancellation requested denied as item has already been posted.
what? and now i have to PAY to return it. like, whats the point? come on.
oh yeah, ebay customer support is also terrible. the AI wont understand me at all.

·7 months agoThis is the official Ebay line - see below. You can ask to cancel, sellers can refuse your request,
If you don't pay, you will get a non-payment strike on your account.
If you pay and send the item back, as you realise, you will have to pay to return the item.
Those are the rules.
Next time, think before you hit the 'buy it now' button.

Mentor7 months agoWhat is a private seller? Because only business sellers are obliged to accept cancellation requests.
