Based on top-selling categories and trending products for 2026, here are five of the most popular and profitable items for selling on eBay:
Mobile Phone Accessories (Cases & Screen Protectors)
Why: These are high-demand, low-cost, and easy-to-ship items that sell consistently year-round. Protective cases, charging cables, and screen protectors are essential for users looking to protect new devices, and they offer high profit margins.
Used or Refurbished Electronics (Smartphones & Tablets)
Why: Electronics constitute the top-selling category on eBay. While new tech is sold by retailers, individual sellers can thrive by listing used or "certified refurbished" smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches.
Vintage and Secondhand Clothing
Why: Fashion is a fast-growing, highly popular category on eBay, with second-hand items in strong demand. Specific items like branded jeans (Levi's, Wrangler), activewear, and vintage graphic T-shirts sell quickly.
Collectibles and Niche Toys (Trading Cards & LEGO)
Why: Driven by nostalgia and investment, this category is one of the most active, featuring products like Pokémon cards, LEGO sets, Funko Pops, and sports memorabilia. Rare items can command premium prices.
Automotive Parts and Accessories
Why: eBay Motors is a major market segment. High-demand items include exterior parts (grilles, mirrors), performance upgrades, and tires, as drivers seek to fix or upgrade their vehicles.
eBay +5
Note: The best items to sell often depend on sourcing at a low cost, such as from thrift stores, garage sales, or wholesale, to maximize profits on these high-volume platforms.
Whatever it is, don't even think about selling it!
This question is often asked, but the market will already be owned by exsting large volume sellers. They will get better deals than newbies from their wholesalers, and the best visibility on eBay.
Small sellers will struggle to make any money at the prices that established sellers can offer for popular items - even if anyone sees their ads, which will languish far down on eBay's listing pages.
If I was restarting as a seller on eBay - which I'm not - I would look for a niche market, with less competition - and preferably something of which I had previous experience. Plenty of sellers have turned an existing hobby into a source of income!
I understand your point of view. It’s a learning for new businesses to flourish in this day and time. It’s just the person who achieved good in their Business Management degree and has lot to learn being supported by university for having some experiences to use in broad areas.
Thats a brilliant advice. EBay helps business through the process guiding policies it’s just a person should read to make sure that all regulations are covered within compliances.
