What is the most popular item sold on eBay?

Whatever it is, don't even think about selling it!

This question is often asked, but the market will already be owned by exsting large volume sellers. They will get better deals than newbies from their wholesalers, and the best visibility on eBay.

Small sellers will struggle to make any money at the prices that established sellers can offer for popular items - even if anyone sees their ads, which will languish far down on eBay's listing pages.

If I was restarting as a seller on eBay - which I'm not - I would look for a niche market, with less competition - and preferably something of which I had previous experience. Plenty of sellers have turned an existing hobby into a source of income!

I understand your point of view. It’s a learning for new businesses to flourish in this day and time. It’s just the person who achieved good in their Business Management degree and has lot to learn being supported by university for having some experiences to use in broad areas.
