THE LATEST SCAM THAT IS AIDED BY EBAY TAKING MONEY OUT OF OUR ACCOUNTS AGAINST OUR WISHES

I HAVE BEEN A VICTIM ON HERE TO A SCAM THAT KEEPS HAPPENING I HAVE COMPLAINED TO EBAY REPEATEDLY, I HAVE BEEN WITH EBAY FOR OVER 25 YEARS, BUT IN THE PAST FEW YEARS I HAVE NOTICED SOME SELLERS ARE USING THIS. DODGE, IF YOU LOOK AT AN ITEM, PUT A WATCH ON IT, OR PUT IT IN YOUR BASKET, A COUPLE OF SELLERS HAVE DONE THIS. “ PAY FOR YOUR PURCHASE” AT FIRST I COMPLAINED TO EBAY AND THE SELLER THE SELLER ALWAYS SAYS THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT. SO I FOUND IF I REMOVED IT FROM MY BASKET AT THE CHECKOUT THAT STOPPED THE TRANSACTION GOING THROUGH. THE SELLER ALWAYS DENIED DOING THIS, HOWRVER TODAY I WAS IN HOSPITAL SO DID NOT SEE ONE OF THESE COMING THROUGH, ALL I HAD DONE WAS LOOK AT THIS BLUE JUMPER DRESS BUT DECIDED NOT FOR ME. I COME HOME AND FIND THAT EBAY HAS ILLEGALLY AGAIN USED MY CARD TO PAY FOR THIS TRANSACTION, I AM DISABLED IN A WHEELCHAIR SO CANNOT RETURN ITEMS….I NEED HELP I HAVE PUT THIS IN MY FEEDBACK, EBAY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PAY FOR ITEMS UNLESS WE HAVE AGREED I HAVE ASKED THEM TO STOP DOING THIS, THEY HAVE IGNORED ME. I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT REPORTING THIS TO THE LEGAL OMBUDSMAN, BECAUSE THIS IS ILLEGAL…CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE ADVISE ME. I AM THE ONLY PERSON USING MY IPAD AND HAVE BEEN THE ONLY PERSON USING THIS FOR 25 YEARS. I DO NOT WANT THIS ITEM I WANT MYMONEY BACK AND EBAY IS IGNORING ME

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you have an unpaid item in your basket, ebay will remind you to pay for it.
Just remove it from basket or don't put it there unless you intend you buy.

OP3 weeks agoNO NONE OF THESE ANSWERS ARE CORRECT, A FEW DAYS AGO THE SAME THING HAPPEND I HAD LOOKED AT THE ITEM NOTHING ELSE, ALL OF A SUDDEN UP POPPED THIS” PAY FOR YOUR PURCHASE”. I FOUND AN ITEM AT CHECKOUT PRESSED REMOVE AND IT WAS REMOVED. I WROTE TO THE SELLER BUT THEY DENIED ALL KNOWLEGE. YESTERDAY I WAS IN HOSPITAL, THE SAME THING HAPPEND AGAIN WITH AN ITEM I HAD JUST SEEN WHILE LOOING FOR SIMILAR ITEMS, I AM 85 THIS WAS A BACKLESS DRESS OF COURSE JUST PASSED IT. UNFORTUNATELY DID NOT GET THE CHANCE TO PRESS REMOVE AS EBAY TOO THE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT I ASKED THE SELLER TO NOT SEND IT AND CANCEL THE SALE AND THE REASON WHY, SHE IGNORED ME. I AM FED UP WITH EBAY TAKING MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. AND WANT TO REPORT THIS ILLEGAL ACTION BY EBAY ANY ADVICE PLEASE

Mentor3 weeks agoThis is not a scam, or something ebay or sellers are doing. If it was there would be thousands of complaints.
I suggest you stop putting things in your basket. Just looking at or watching something will not result in ebay taking money. You should also remove any saved payment methods. Having a number of things in your basket and going to pay for one can result in paying for them all.
I suspect it has something to do with screen lag on your tablet so that when you touch something on the page you are looking at it actually registers something else on a previous page but in the same place on the screen.
