The buyer claimed that the item didn't match the description.
I recently advertised an item ( a bonnet for a mk1 TT). I placed photo's with it's description. A buyer bought it and chose to collect in person. He came, checked over the item, seemed happy (I certainly did not force him to take it) and put the bonnet in the back of his van (Unsecured and amongst other "stuff") Off he went happy.
Over a week later the buyer, who by now has had the bonnet repainted another colour, wants a refund. Says the bonnet won't fit ! I respond, after contacting the part supplier who I initially purchased it from, I got photo's of said bonnet, on the donor TT it came from, and passed them along to prove it came off that model vehicle, and that it fitted okay.
Thought that would be the end of it, but no, Ebay seem to think it does not match the description I sold it under ??? I sold the bonnet I had described, shown in photo's, not something else. How can it not match it's description, more so, how did the buyer get duped into taking something else when he collected it. I'm just baffled and peed off with Ebay's rubbish logic.

Mentor5 months agoEven if collection item, buyers are still able to open item not as described case.
You have to arrange collection of item.
BUT, as buyer admitted repainting item, this should invalidate MBG.
I suggest you contact CS, make sure you point out that it has been repainted, so not in same condition.
