Television recall
Summary: sailaway85 received an email from eBay about a recall on a television purchased on January 2nd, instructing them to contact the seller, an outlet. However, both the seller and eBay have ignored their messages. **peaseblossom** advises that eBay does not assist with claims after 30 days and suggests using the money claim online service. red_magpie confirms that eBay will not get involved after the initial 30 days post-delivery, leaving responsibility to the seller, though typically sellers like the outlet should handle such issues.
Hi, I recently received an email from eBay informing me that there had been a recall on a television that I bought on January 2nd, The email informed me to contact the seller of the item which was Argos outlet. I've contacted them on several occasions but they are ignoring my messages. I have also contacted eBay on several occasions and they are also ignoring my messages. I would like to know what I have to do with this recall on the television if everyone is ignoring me. On the purchase it does say that there is a 12-month warranty on this item, but as already mentioned, eBay and Argos are ignoring my emails and messages.

Mentor3 months agoUp to 30 days from the date of delivery eBay would probably treat a recall notice as grounds for a refund under its money back guarantee.
After 30 days eBay will not get involved, except to let you know that there is a safety recall on the item. Any responsibility then rests with the seller.
Unfortunately many sellers on eBay don't want to know about after-sales problems. Hopefully this won't be true of Argos.

Mentor3 months agoI'm afraid it's too late to do anything about it on ebay. They only allow 30 days for claims and don't get involved with warranties. Payment provider only allow 120 days.
You could try the small claims court, now called money claim online:
