'Stuck' in collection
Summary: danla3327 sold an item on eBay but faced an issue with not providing a 'Collection Code' after the item was picked up by a third party. tressygirl suggested contacting the buyer to retrieve the code for a faster payout. papso22 and *vyolla* advised that since payment was received and the buyer is satisfied, there is no need to worry. tommystrezures offered steps to archive the sale to clean up the seller hub, but danla3327 couldn't find the necessary option. danla3327 acknowledged the advice and noted the difficulty in finding the archiving option.
I sold my first item in April (it was for my parents, and collected from their home by a third party on behalf of the buyer). All went well - in the sense that the money is in my eBay account, and buyer happy.
What has gone wrong - is neither my parents, nor the firm collecting - nor I for that matter - realised a 'Collection Code' should have been provided , to finalise the listing correctly.
Can anyone advise how to tidy this up, please (ideally before I try and list anything else!)
Thank you

Mentor3 months agoYou honestly don't need to do anything to tidy this up at this point. You've been paid and your buyer is happy, I'd just let it lie.

Mentor3 months agoThis is always a problem when a third party for collection is involved. If all are happy then you don't need to worry too much, but for your info and anyone else reading, involvement of a third party for a collection of an item invalidates the eBay MBG.
The easiest way of tidying it up from your sold section is to click the item (the little tick box to the left if on desk top) then click the more icon and I think the second or third option down is archive, and put it in the archive, then at least you have a clean slate so to speak in your waiting dispatch area of the seller hub.

OP3 months agoThank you. That would be ideal, especially as these few sales are trial runs prior to my attempting to set up a business account (and clean slate would be great) - except I can't seem to find the icon (either on laptop or mobile app). Looks like my only option is 'delete' - but am reluctant to go down that route.

Mentor3 months agoYou can't tidy it up and aa you have been paid there is nothing to worry about.

Mentor3 months agoAll you can do now, is to send the buyer a message for them to send you that 6 digit collection code, which you can manually enter into ' item collected'.
They may find this in their emails, eBay messages, or order details. Explain this will facilitate a faster payout for the money being held for the sale of the item.
If they do not oblige, some do find it difficult to find the code, then nothing more you can do, and your payout will be held for a minimum of 14 days.

OP3 months agoThank you. The payout is there, so no problem in that respect. It's just keeping everything neat and tidy, which I'd prefer. I feel I've left it a bit long to hassle the buyer for the info!
