Speakers Listed Then buyer wants to return
Summary: The discussion subject revolves around a buyer wanting to return speakers that were purchased. However, the details of the conversation between the participants are not provided, as their comments are marked simply as 'None.'
I listed some Kef speakers and had a buyer offer which I accepted. He came tomorrow house, listened to them, all well and good , we finished the transaction with code etc, he loads them into his car and heads home. I get a message from him in the evening to say they are not working properly at high volume. These speakers are less than 2 years old and in perfect condition. I have agreed for him to return them and I'll refund. Problem is they are not boxed and he lives 3.5 hours away so wants me to arrange collection etc.
1. They were working fine when I sold them (they are high end tech so require a level of setting up)
2.Am I responsible for return cost?
3. Is it reasonable to ask him to properly package them up as they are not boxed etc?
Any advice would be appreciated??

·6 months agoIf the buyer opens a case through Ebay, you will have to arrange return of the speakers and then refund the buyer in full.
Buyers have the same protection from Ebay even if they examine and collect items.
You can ask the buyer to package them and remind him that they should be returned to you in the same condition.
As paying for return may be expensive, is there any way you could go and collect them?

If he opens a case you will have to cover/arrange for the return and then refund.
Personally I think this is appalling, but it wasn't my decision!
