Spam e mails
Just put a couple of cardigans on here to sell straight away I get 2 e mail saying they have been sold but I need to verify things and they want me to put a copy a link they have sent into a url address and fill a identification verification in been on to ebay but not very good on the computer I couldn't do what they wanted me to do
SO does this mean we have to watch our ebay accounts now some one must be hacked into e bay as this happened so quick don't think they had been listed

Mentor6 months agoNo one has hacked eBay, but yes spam / spoof emails are sent to peeps, and some are very difficult to tell real from spoof but there are things to look out for.
eBay will Always contact you using your real name, never address you by your username ID. If you receive a message from eBay in your emails, it will be followed up in your eBay messages.
Look out for bad grammar, spelling mistakes, some are glaring.
Best advice whenever there's a link... never click on it.
Send any spoof to spoof@ebay.co.uk they will investigate.

Mentor6 months agoThere are scam emails asking for verification doing the rounds. Never enter your details into a link on an email. Always do it via your ebay account.

·6 months agoThere are lots of posts about this - this scam seems to be mainly targeting new or inexperienced sellers.
Unfortunately, I think a lot of people will be caught out.
