Someone is using my bank card

Hello, I recently spotted numerous transactions on my bank account to Ebay, they were not purchases made from my ebay account and were not in my purchase history. Someone has been using my card since February 2025 and I have had 2 cards since and they are still using it. I have tried to get a call back but no response and when I selected to call and put my one time PIN in just said nobody could help right now. The bank has never seen anything like it as some transactions were actual refunds going into my account. I need to stop this happening again but have no idea how - please help!!

Mentor6 days ago@heidimarieatkins Just a thought - your eBay ID, is that actually your real name? If so, that's a bad move as it would be searchable and anyone could find out more personal information about you, in which case this may be a security issue your end.

It's your bank that should be advising you about securing your account. How on earth is this still happening since February 2025 and two changes of bank cards?
What steps have you taken to secure your account? To ask the obvious, have you changed your passwords? Set up two-stage verification or a passkey? Are you careful not to disclose account security details to anyone, including members of your household?
Do you have security on your connected device to scan for trojans, malware etc. that may have been installed - some malware can specifically search for passwords used or saved online. Malwarebytes is just one of several security applications that will do this.

If you've had two cards since then it sounds like the bank issue replacement cards, not cards with brand new numbers on them.

OP6 days agoNo all new Card Details and cards cancelled by the Bank, the Bank had not seen anything like it before. They did say that if you pay for a subscription, people can request new card details

Mentor6 days agoHave you paid for a subscription somewhere then? If you have, your bank should be able to tell you of the name of the company you've subscribed to.
If you haven't then I agree with @red_magpie that this could be malware on your device if you're changing details and they still appear to be accessible by a third party.

Replacement cards have new numbers, and the three digit code on the back of card changes, but the bank account number on the card remains the same.
I think the bank has let him down as account should be closed and a new bank account opened, particularly if this has been going on so long.
I have never heard about paying a subscription which sounds weird, WHO can request details, only the account owner and they have the details already, but then things change and I have been retired for over 30 years.
