Simple delivery, combined postage & cancelling orders

Question

Someone has bought two items on auction from me and asked for a combined postage invoice, which as it is simple delivery I can't give.

I have suggested I could cancel the sale and relist as one listing, that will save £3.38.

But how is the best way to cancel and order? That is, without suggesting blame on buyer or seller....

I have previously sold 2 items via auction and there was a combined postage amount - the buyer still paid a bit more than needed. But can't see how a combined postage can be given if the actual weight can't be listed somewhere. If 2 items were 1kg small parcel that can work.

You can use the reason "Buyer asked to cancel". That won't have any negative affect on their account or yours.

Just to add the refund for the unused Simple Delivery label is paid back to whoever paid for the label this way:

If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
