simple delivery buyer being refunded because they opened a no delivery too early
I tracked a parcel to make sure it had been delivered as not heard from the buyer, sent them a message to say delivery had been tried on 29th but unseccessful so would try again (royal mail), I let the buyer know the situation ,but instead of waiting for the 2nd del attempt they raised a no del case, with this SIMPLE DELIVERY system it was taken out of my hands even though buyer knew the situation and was looking out for the postman, no way to get in touch with Simple Delivery to explain, today they have refunded the buyer the money PLUS the item was delivered today !!!! so they got a free purchase!!! what's to stop every untrustworthy buyer doing this ? This is one ILL thought out system . Will Ebay now ask for the money back ? Apart from the fact it isn't SIMPLE at all.

Mentor11 months ago1st thing to learn is NEVER contact buyers about delivery, they will soon let you know if there is an issue.
Luckily ebay refund buyer under SD, so you keep your money.
Attempted delivery is normally enough for delivery proof.

OP11 months agoand was looking out for their postie. They had no reason to open a no del
case after they acknowledged the situation, plus we should have the right
to be consulted just like we used to have.

Damn stupid system

OP11 months agoIt is a flawed system, plus it could potentially backfire on feedback for us. All because it is monitered by robots instead of real people. There needs to be a good timeframe between a no del and reimbursment , giving the seller the right of imput, it has all been taken out of our hands now, which I don't believe is a good idea. I wonder if the feedback from the seller will be picked up and Ebay ask for the refund back ?

Mentor11 months agoTo be honest the only time ebay might do something, is when they realise how open to fraud the system is.
I am sure some scammers have worked out it is easier tonscam ebay than members.
Two scammers or more working together, acting as buyers or sellers, could arrange fake sales at high prices, but item arrives broken in the post. As ebay always tell us they never see what is sent or received, any pile of broken glass could be the expensive glass item they posted.
Would ebay investigate an “arrived damage claim” and if do how.?
