simple delivery

Just sent an item that was listed with simple delivery. When I checked it was wrongly sized and weighed so I sent it myself using Royal Mail for a bigger charge.

I can't seem to mark it as sent now. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. The chat bot is useless.

If you triggered the Simple Delivery label this marks it as dispatched. You cannot now add any new tracking, eBay suggest sending the buyer a message with those tracking details. If a case is opened later for item not received, you will be able to add those tracking details.

As it wasn't used the refund will go to whoever paid for the label this way:

If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.

Your payout for the item will be held for a minimum of 14 days.

Many thanks for your reply. I haven’t actually triggered the simple delivery with prepaid label yet. On realising it was incorrectly sized and weighed I sent it via Royal Mail myself.

Should I trigger the simple delivery and not use it?
