Selling problem
When trying to list an item for sale, I get an error message saying "description ". I cannot find anything wrong with my description ???

AI can pick this up as off ebay deal.

Mentor6 months agoI'd shorten that to include just relevant points about the condition of the amp. You've got nearly three thousand characters there, whilst eBay recommend 800 because most listings are viewed via a mobile device.

Mentor6 months agoIt's not technically too long, I think that because it's a large block of text and sellers don't use lengthy listing descriptions it's flagged something up there. It honestly doesn't need to be that long and, as mentioned, the recommended character maximum is 800 due to potential buyers viewing via a mobile device.

OP6 months agoGood audio quality at low power is readily available and cheap. Quality generally falls off when audio power is increased. At moderate levels up to 20 Watts (very loud in a home environment) this 606 is impressive. My recent favourites include "Sowing the Seeds of Love" and "An Englishman in New York". Examples of where real quality can be appreciated. And this is using the most basic pre-amp and only fair quality speakers. The 606 really comes into it's own at higher levels. This will easily fill a large pub or hall with more than enough audio power. I have tested this 606 in a very large cinema venue. And it is adequate for that. Many djs (as we know) will be happy to boast about their power levels. And indeed, they can make the windows (and walls) rattle. But quality? Usually good enough to pick out the background beat and not much else. This 606 is different. "Whole Lotta Love" or "Thunderstruck" . . . Wow. And if you want to get people on their feet . . . "Dueling Banjos" is irresistible. Again, very average peripherals (speakers). Quad recommend that these amps are serviced every 10-15 years. This is mainly about some electrolytic capacitors within. The concern here is not that these components might fail as such, but may, over time, result in a reduced audio quality. Personally I would wait until any degradation becomes apparent. My gut feeling is that this amp will be good for another 10 years. The audiophile with the very best pre-amp and speakers might disagree? Quad (Huntingdon) are very good to deal with and will provide a full service, with guarantees, at a reasonable cost. I am selling this much loved amp as I have a Quad 405.2 (much the same thing but lower power). This is more than enough for domestic use (I no longer do this professionally). Nowadays, just an occasional blast when the neighbours are away! No quibble returns with this. Buyer to cover postage . Much loved. Would happy to see it go to a good home. Not great cosmetically.
