Selling Limits
I want to sell a £1795 carbon fibre road bike. I have listed a buy it now price of £1200. I only have a £650 selling limit. I have tried to get in touch with an agent to discuss but I'm in a loop with the assistant.
I find the limit not fair. I can't sell a virtually new bike for a fraction of the cost.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Still not enough, perhaps? It may be just as well - the limit is for your own protection.
Do you fully understand the risks of selling such a valuable bike on eBay? The days when you could sell it for collection and insist on cash payment are long gone. All items must be paid for through eBay's checkout, ensuring that the buyer has the benefit of eBay's money back guarantee.
This entitles them to find any fault with the bike within 30 days. eBay would almost automatically support them, and you would be required to send them a prepaid return label, or arrange courier collection. There is no guarantee that the bike would be returned in the same condition - or even the same bike. eBay might or might not support you - they never see the item concerned, and admit that they are sometimes unable to determine who has the valid case. When this happens, their policy seems to support the buyer, and require the seller to refund them.
You won't know how the buyer paid eBay. If by credit or debit card the buyer would also have probably about 120 days to ask his card supplier to issue a chargeback. Depending upon the reason, you may have little or no say in the outcome, which will be determined by eBay. If the chargeback refers to the description of the bike eBay, which hasn't even seen it, could well accept the chargeback without challenging it. Sellers who have to refund buyers for chargebacks often don't even get their item back. Not even eBay has any say in this.
You ageed in the user agreement to accept eBay's decisions in all disputes.
I'm not saying you shouldn't sell it here - just be sure you understand and accept the risks.

Mentor6 months agoHave you gone to the seller hub and under monthly limits there should be an increase limits button have you tried this yet?
Edit: Its probably because you are an infrequent seller that this limit is currently imposed.

Mentor6 months agoYou could try contacting Customer Services. Explain you wish to sell this one item for £**** but your limit is only £***. Could they please increase it. Worth a shot!
I strongly recommend contacting CS 8 a.m. on a weekday when the lines open for ' live agents' as then, there's more chance of Dublin answering.
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.
