Selling in two different countries
Summary: michaeljchitty is selling on eBay UK and plans to sell a valuable item possibly to buyers in Belgium or France. They inquire if they need separate listings on Belgian and French eBay sites or if a translation in the UK listing is sufficient. *vyolla* suggests including a translation and ensuring postage options are selected for visibility on international sites. They also mention using eBay's Global Shipping Programme. tobiasd4 asks if michaeljchitty has updated and verified their bank account, given they haven't sold for a while.
Hello
I have been selling quite happily in the UK on ebay but the valuable item I'm about to sell is likely to be bought by a Belgian or French customer.
Do I simply need to list it on the UK ebay and maybe put a French/Belgian translation in the description and hope that French/Belgian buyers will see the listing on the UK site
or do I need to list it in the UK and then make entirely separate listings on the Belgian and French ebay sites as well?
or does ebay offer a service whereby they can translate/show my UK listing onto the Belgian and French ebay sites for me?
Thank you in advance for any information and help
Michael

Mentor3 weeks agoTo add.
You haven't sold for a while, so have have added bank account and had it verified?

OP3 weeks agoIt was certainly added & verified before and I have the same account so presumably so but thank you for the heads up as it may well be international sales require more compliance

Mentor3 weeks agoIf there's a postage price and method to France and Belgium set up on your listing then it will be viewable on the other sites.
If you want to add a translation to your description then you can do that, just use Google translate.

OP3 weeks agoOk- thank you for your helpful reply.
So I can keep it simple then and just list on the UK site with a translation. Presumably once I tell ebay in the listing all the details of what I'm selling inc. weight/dimensions etc it will calculate/advise as to postage/transport method/customs duties to the relevant countries ( I may add the USA too) and they will show automatically on my listing?

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you've selected to use eBay's Global Shipping Programme and the items are something that they'll ship then they'll work out a postage cost based on what you put for your domestic postage cost.
