Selling an item that is under warranty.

Hi there

So I want to sell a pair of high end wireless earbuds as I've tried a couple of pairs (as you do) and I've found the right ones for me. I can't return them to the retailer as under their exclusions (due to health and hygiene blabla) they won't accept them.

If I sell them on ebay and state they have, say, 11 months warranty on them and there's a fault with them, does the ebay buyer return them to the retailer or to me?

I'm a bit confused on this issue and don't want to fall foul of anything as I have a 100% rating and do everything I can do obey the rules and please the customer...

I hope these aren't an Apple make, as they are Vero protected ( rights owner protection) and if spotted Apple may ask eBay to remove them from sale.

Any warranty outside eBay's 30 day MBG Money Back Guarantee policy is between you and the buyer.

Usually warranties are not transferable , so the new owner may not be able to enforce this.

Personally, I would list the item stating how new, how often used, but not to mention any warranties.

Hi there, no not Apple Products 😉 Thanks for the reply, that's most helpful.

This has come up because recently I sold a new small audio accessory item (again, not apple) and the buyer said it didn't work.

I agreed a return and when I received it back I synced it up with the bluetooth and it works perfectly well - I just think (despite my efforts during messaging) they couldn't set it up correctly.

Now I have had to pay for the refund postage AND I no longer have a new sealed product, but a used one.

Any solution to this? I've had years of plain sailing selling all sorts so I'm like a rabbit in headlights when something like this happens 🙂
