Selling a camera
Hello all,
Thanks in advance for any help with this. I've sold a camera online, and underneath the sale, it says this: Funds pending – in eBay balance 14 Oct
The customer has asked to pick up the camera from my home. Is that cool ?
Do I let this happen ?
Thanks
Paul

Mentor1 week agoPreferably not, its not cool. If the buyer picks up they could later open an INR case as you have no proof of collection and or delievery. It will also mean funds will be pending for 14 days, before being released to you.

OP1 week agoThanks Tommy, it felt slightly off. I’m curious about sending this as well then. Do I not send until the funds clear ? Slightly confused and thanks for the help.

Mentor1 week agoIf its the four figured camera you have sold, your only coverage will be with Special Delivery with additional insurance (standard is only £750).
Personally if you are concerned and its the item I mention above, I would be inclined to cancel the sale and relist as collection only. At least then you would get a collection code to put in to the system to release funds quicker and also give you some seller protection in that the item has been collected. Also with an item of that value it gives the buyer the opportunity to satisfy themselves that they are happy with the item before taking it away.
You send within your time frame you give eg dispatched within two days, you do not wait until funds clear.
