Sellers show collected before it has been

There is a seller right now who shows that I have collected a desk that I paid for by PayPal. Desk is being collected in 3 days. When I noticed what they did on my purchased items, I asked them about it and they said. Oh I hope you don't mind Ebay takes ages to pay so I did it sooner. But. I am shocked that they could fo it without me giving them the collection code! Why has the seller been able to manually click collected. There is obviously a big fault in the system by Eaby. Should I do anything? I do feel offended by this. What should I do?

Mentor3 weeks agoWhere are you seeing this and what does it say? Sellers cannot officially mark as collected by buyer without the collection code. They can mark dispatched if there was any postage invoived by opening the link to the postage label.

OP3 weeks agoDefinitely shows in my purchase items as collected. I have not given the code at all. Does not show as despatched. How has this happened? As soon as I noticed i quizzed the seller and they said hope you dont mind. I placed the order and paid on Friday morning, by the afternoon I told them that courier was booked to pick up the desk. A few hours later I then noticed the item showing collected. How has it happened?

Mentor3 weeks ago · EditedI didn't think it was possible. We often get sellers on here who have handed over an item and forgotten to get the code. Then they're stuck having to wait at least 14 days for the payment because there has been no way of marking collected without the code. eBay must have changed it. There's no much you can do about it.

OP3 weeks agoThe courier asked me for the collection code when i made the booking so, I gave it to them. I know what has happened they must given them the code, before they even collected it.

Mentor3 weeks agoThat must be it. The courier must have contacted the seller, or vice versa, and given them the code.

OP3 weeks agoI will check tomorrow and ask them for sure if they did give them the code. As, when I handed the code over to them I specifically said, only to be given after collection was made. I should have refused to give them the code when they asked me.
