Sellers passing on private customer details to Shein
Too many sellers are now selling for Shein no stock is held by seller. Seller is ordering good from Shein and passing customer personal details on.....surely this breaks Data Protection laws and also goes against Ebay seller rules?

Mentor1 month agoLooking at delivery dates, it will take 7 - 14 days to arrive if bought today.
So likely coming from China, although business seller is registered in UK.

Mentor1 month agoAnd item location is showing as Birmingham, so if it is coming from China its a reportable case of location misrepresentation.

OP1 month agoShein is in Singapore they used to be based in China.
I've raised this with Ebay before but they BOT went with the seller. I raised it once again with Ebay and once again the BOT sided with the seller because they are a registered seller.
Seller wins.

OP1 month agoSo what is the point me filtering on ITEM LOCATION if no UK stock is held.
Plus giving out my details to Shein is not legal surely without my consent?

OP1 month ago · EditedSeems Ebay allows Shein agents as long as they are a register business, so by simply becoming a Limited company they are OK to list on Ebay. I think this wrong and should be stored.
After the next few items I've purchased from legit UK sellers I may close my account. Giving out private info is a big a NO NO

Mentor1 month agoIt's got nothing to do with being a Limited Company, many business sellers are sole traders, not companies.
However, the item location is showing as Birmingham. What does the packaging show - did it come from China, Singapore or Birmingham.

OP1 month ago · EditedNot got it yet but as soon as I received confirmation of purchase the delivery schedule was my first warning so I read feedback and saw previous customer commenting on Shein delivery. I fell for a Shein delivery previously and the seller never even sees the goods straight from airport to the courier who slap a label with my details on it,

Mentor1 month agoThanks, did the packaging indicate that the item came from China?

OP1 month agoNo item location is supposed to be Birmingham.
I always filter by ITEM LOCATION - UK ONLY and SELLER LOCATION.
This time I didn't do my due diligence and check out the Feedback.

Mentor1 month agoCan I ask why you believe that the item came from China/Singapore? Do you have the packaging that indicates this? If so, you can report that seller.
