Hi Everyone,
I have bought a set of chairs this morning and now, shortly before 5 pm, the seller wrote that he needs the chairs for a family event and wants to keep them. He will sell them at a later date and wants me to cancel the sale.
I don’t want to do that and have now offered him to use the chairs for his family event but let me know now when I can collect them.
Is this a common thing and according to the eBay policy that sellers can just cancel a sale after someone has bought the item?
Unfortunately, this is not a problem that the eBay customer service/help pages mention.
How do I deal with this?
I would be very grateful for your advice.
Many thanks
Bettina

Mentor6 months agoHe wants you to tell him to cancel so he avoids a defect, so don't do that. It is fairly common for sellers to refuse to sell, but they need to accept the consequences.
You can use the money back guarantee to claim item not received if necessary, but don't leave it too long.

Any idea how I can reach the eBay customer service regarding this?

Mentor6 months agoThere is no point contacting ebay. They can't force the seller to sell.
