Seller sold defective goods
Summary: junhas_44 described purchasing wheels from a seller with an agreement that they would arrive without tyres and in good condition. After a delayed delivery, the wheels arrived with tyres and brake dust. It wasn't until the tyres were removed that junhas_44 discovered a cracked weld. **peaseblossom** suggested contacting the payment provider for a refund or chargeback, as eBay wouldn't be able to assist if outside their policy timeline.
I bought a set of wheels from a seller on here in May 2026. It was agreed that the tyres would be removed before delivering them and that they had no cracks or welds. Seller than delayed delivery by 2 weeks making excuses. I finally requested a refund is when he decided to deliver them. He delivered whem with tyres on, at 9pm with a lot brake dust on them. Was glad to get my wheels so accepted them. Refund request was closed. Its only today, 14th August 2026 when I had the tyres removed that I see one wheel has a weld which has cracked. Is there any recourse available to me?

Mentor3 weeks agoYour experience is a reminder that eBay does not guarantee that items sold here will be truthfully described, safe or even legal. eBay is a jungle.
If an item is not as described you can use eBay's money back guarantee, but this is only valid for 30 days. So it's important to check items promptly on delivery. Sadly, your mistake was to take the condition of the wheels on trust. Hopefully your payment provider may still be able to help.

Mentor3 weeks agoNot through ebay but as long as it's still within 120 days of payment contact your payment provider and ask them about a refund/chargeback.
