Mentor2 months agoSorry you've lost your money, it's a lot to lose and a harsh learning curve.
It's a shame you didn't find your way here first so we could've told you that payments must be made via eBay checkout and that your bank transfer payment had no protection.

Mentor2 months agoi offered to pay by cash upon collection
Cash payment is no longer allowed on eBay. Even if the seller had accepted it, you would have disqualified yourself from any buyer protection from eBay. As you did anyway by paying by bank transfer.
If you want to benefit from eBay's money back guarantee you need to read and follow the terms and conditions.

Mentor2 months agoIt's a shame that you paid outside of eBay, if you'd correctly paid via eBay checkout you's have been covered by their 30 Day Money Back Guarantee/Buyer Protection.

Mentor2 months agoIf you paid by bank transfer then ebay wont help you as they will see it as paying outside their parameters and class it as an offsite sale. You have invalidated your ebay MBG by paying in this manner. The only acceptable payment method would have been via eBay.
I am not sure your bank will assist you as they will tell you you should have checked item working etc before paying by BACS.
