seller return postage guarentee
I have bought an ipod from a seemingly genuine seller in china, they have a returns policy where they pay for returns.
As the item is faulty i requested a return, after an offer of a 1/8th refund and i can keep the dead device they eventually accept they have to give a full refund but then claim they cannot find a mail courier in my area and want me to pay for return postage, declare the value of the package to be below £3.00 also the address they want me to send it to is different from the actual address on the return acceptance.
Plus they want me to send a copy of the postage receipt so they can reimburse me
Is this a standard and normal way to get items sent back or am i being played and they have no intention of refunding me.
As they have appeared to have complied with ebay policy it looks i am the one that must act next but cant find a way to contact ebay directly to get their help.

Mentor6 months agoAll items must be returned via eBay's returns process, and the seller provides a label or, if an international seller, sends the buyer the cost of the return postage. You wouldn't make a false declaration on a customs label, you'd mark it as a return.
Open an eBay return and do this correctly, or you will lose your refund and the item:

OP6 months agoThanks for your reply, thats exactly what i suspected.
I have opened a return case with ebay and by coincidence was able to speak to a person who has assured me that i will be covered by ebay as they are able to see all correspondence between myself and the seller.

Open a return, after 3 business days the option to ask eBay to step in will appear, state that you've not received a returns label or a payment to cover the cost of the return. Then click on the ask eBay to step in buttton.

Mentor6 months agoDo as vyolla says and escslate on day 4 after opening return case.
There is a good chance that ebay will just refund at sellers expense without the need to return.
If this happens just hold on to item for a time, in case seller decides to pay for return, but I think this is unlikely.
