Seller refusing to return
What can I do after I bought something if the seller literally refuses to return and closes the return case? There isn't even an appeal button and when I try to find an ebay agent to help, all there is is some AI which redirects to the refund page and when I click on the items to refund, it says case is closed and I can't do anything about it.

Mentor1 week agoWhat is the issue with the item you have purchased?
It sounds as though you have opened the wrong type of case if the seller has closed it and refused it.
If you can update on this here we can advice you on what you may be able to do.

OP1 week agoI bought 2 shirts. Both were one size too big for me and one of them I found out was a counterfeit but he didn't say it was a counterfeit in the description and in fact, told me it was a genuine shirt. I wanted to refund both, so keeping it the same, I requested refund under 'wrong size' and he simply just closed my refund case and refused to refund messaging me saying he doesn't accept refunds but he didn't say it anywhere in his description or listing so I didn't know. Overall, I've just been played by the seller, selling me counterfeits and refusing to refund after the purchase and not telling me earlier that he didn't accept refund and there's nothing I can do because I can't appeal or contact the ebay support (the real people). However I did already report his listing for counterfeit and also how he refused to refund and lied to me about how it is genuine so I hope I will get my refund.

Mentor1 week agoIn which case for the counterfeit item you opened the wrong case. You should have opened a not as described case and the seller would have had to accept the return and refun you.
The wrong size is classed as remorse return, so whilst annoying if you have bought from a business seller they would have had to accept it. the Private seller is within their rights to refuse returns.
The counterfeit shirt you could approach your payment provider to see if they can assist, the wrong size I can only suggest relisting it and selling it on.

OP1 week agoDoes reporting the listing help?

Mentor1 week agoNo reporting the listing will not help.
What helps are cases opened and too many refunds made, this raises red flags to eBay, who can act with bestowing any sanctions they see fit on the seller.
Opening the correct case therefore, is not only important to receive your refund, it can be used to remove bad sellers too.

OP1 week agoSo what can I do now? Is there a way I can still get my refund?

Mentor1 week agoYou're a bit stuck here, we'd usually recommend issuing a not as described chargeback if you paid with a debit/credit card or Apple Pay, but as you've already tried to return it citing 'Doesn't Fit' as the reason your payment provider may not like it. It's not something I'd recommend under these circumstances.
