seller refuses to send item
Hi, I won an 8 reals silver cob coin for £76 The seller had no reserve on the item. No one else bid and I won the auction fair and square. I paid asap and waited to hear from seller. Instead I got a refund, no message or explanation. They obviously wanted more money. If I honour my commitment as a buyer then surely shouldn't they honour theirs as a seller? This makes me feel like not bidding again on Ebay.

Mentor6 months agoThis is very bad selling, but as there is no acceptable reason for cancelling items which do not reach the price the seller requires, if they selected ' out of stock' for the reason, this will give their account a damaging defect.
If they selected Buyer Requests to cancel this does not give their account any strikes, and here if you wish, you can contact Customer Services explain you did not give permission to cancel, and were very disappointed not to receive your item.
You will not know of any, if any sanction is placed on the seller's account, but eBay may well add that defect.
If you want to then, I strongly recommend contacting CS 8 a.m. on a weekday when the lines open for ' live agents' as then, there's more chance of Dublin answering.
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

Mentor6 months agoYou're welcome, me thinks it's a very weak reason to lose and definitely not ' damage' silver coins ? 🤔
You can leave appropriate feedback something like..... Very disappointed not to receive my items.

OP5 months agoHi,
Yes, just an excuse not to send the item I won and paid for. Losing or damaging a 400 year old "Piece of Eight" isn't something easily done!
I did leave similar feedback as to what you advised. Maybe next time they will set a reserve.
Many thanks again for your advice! 🙂

Mentor5 months agoYou're welcome.
Shame many sellers just do not know how to list their items for auctions. All that needs doing is to start auctions for the lowest amount the seller is happy to receive, then it cannot sell for less!
Hope you find the items from another , better seller !

Mentor6 months agoThis happens quite a lot, despite Ebay's rules.
When you got your refund what reason did they use for cancelling?

OP6 months agoUnfortunately it seems to. They excuse was it had been lost or damaged!
