Seller refund mistake
Hi all,
Interesting situation... I ordered an item, I paid for the item... the item arrived. All was good.
The seller has then contacted me explaining they made a mistake and sent a full refund to me instead of somebody else (which i have checked and it seems it is being processed).
They have asked me whether I would be good enough to send them the money back via a bank transfer, which i am happy to do but I cannot help but be wary of this for some reason.
I never like doing transactions outside of Ebay for many reasons, and scams are rife at the moment. Has anybody been in this situation before and can advise me? I can't find a way to talk to ebay directly about this issue.
Thanks

Mentor10 months agoWhat was the item? If something is wrong with it you won't be able to use the money back guarantee, or any buyer protection from the original funding source, for the second payment.
So effectively the seller would be doing you out of buyer protection by their 'mistake'.

Mentor10 months agoIn these circumstances there is no process for repaying money through ebay.
Only way is via Paypal, Bank Transfer or Cheque.
So long as you receive the refund, no harm in repaying seller again by bank transfer.
